Year Band Album Title Mark's Comments
Warlord Deliver Us E.P. "8 track recording, no budget but a great experience and the beginning of Warlord"
Warlord Aliens / Lost and Lonely Days 12" "Nice studio and had fun cracking plates for the song Aliens."
Warlord ...And The Cannons of Destruction Have Begun "Horrible studio, mix is out of phase.  This is the soundtrack to the video that we did of a live performance that was staged at Perkins Palace in Pasadena CA. Again, no budget."
Warlord Thy Kingdom Come (Best Of) "Metal Blade repackage.  No say over the cover, which we were not fond of."
Fates Warning Perfect Symmetry "Recorded at the Carriage House in CT.  Went by very fast don't remember much. First recording with Fates.  Some people say this is a turning point album for the band."
Parallels Parallels "Recorded in Toronto with Terry Brown.  We were there forever.  Had the great idea that we would finish writing the album before we recorded.  I think we were there for 4 months.  Great album."
Warlord Best of Warlord "Another Metal Blade repack."
Fates Warning Inside Out "Recorded in LA.  Some great songs that went under the radar and disappointed with the sound."
Fates Warning Chasing Time "Fates' "Best Of" album."
Fates Warning A Pleasant Shade of Gray "One of the best albums I've done.  Again going under the radar.  Played this live in its entirety.  Some great musical pieces."
Fates Warning Still Life "Live recording through Europe.  APSOG is done from start to finish."
Chroma Key Dead Air For Radios "Had a great time working with Kevin Moore.  He had definite ideas on the drum parts and we worked well together.  I had a crazy funky drum riff that he actually wrote a song around.  First time anyone ever did that with one of my crazy parts.  Did this at my studio in LA."
Jim Matheos Away with Words "Did the drums at my studio in LA. Much like doing a Fates record except there are no vocals and the music is a bit different.  Remember spending hours and hours trying to record this one 21/16,  or some goofy time signature part, to a cover tune by Michael Manring's band.  Beautiful record."
Fates Warning Disconnected "Did the drums at my studio in LA with Phil Magnotti.  I was very prepared and did the tracks in 2 or 3 days.  Very quick recording.  An album that has some really great music."
Warlord Rising Out of the Ashes "First time playing with Bill in some 20 years.  Just like old times, nothing has changed.  It was great to hear Warlord come to life with Joacim Cans singing.  Both Bill and Joacim came to my house in NY to record.  Had a great time.  And again like 20 years before I sat and watched Bill play the guitar in amazement.  I felt like I was 20 years old again.  Love this band."
Warlord Book One. Cd of Deliver Us and DVD of the "...And The Cannons of Destruction Have Begun" video "We decided to release the first Warlord album "Deliver Us" on cd as well as the video And The Cannons of Destruction Have Begun..." on DVD.  Besides being hard to find the originals, they were never done on cd/dvd."
Joacim Cans solo album Beyond the Gates "I met Joacim when he did the vocals for the Warlord album "Rising Out of the Ashes". We became friends immediately. When he asked me to play drums on his first solo effort, I was flattered. I recorded the drums at my studio. I really enjoyed the straight forward approach that I took to support some great metal songs. Joacim did an excellent job with the vocals. Playing the live shows has also been a blast. I will be going over to Europe to play some shows with Cans in the beginning of August"
Glen Snelwar solo album Untitled "This is an anything goes type approach from the drum point of view. There is everything from some double bass metal, to some jazz stuff, to some Middle Eastern percussion stuff. A very wide variety of stuff. Michael Manring plays some great bass. Recorded the drums in my studio in California. Very good listening for the prog fan who never wants to hear the same thing twice."
Fates Warning X "Sort of the end of my Fates days. Prior to this I told the guys I did not want to tour with Fates anymore and needless to say this impacted the recording. I had committed to it, so I did it and did the best I could taking into account the funky situation. Kind of sad as I always really looked forward to recording."
Slavior Slavior "The rebirth of Mark Zonder. Had a great time sitting in my living room with my cat Frank (who is deaf) recording my parts. Joe Marlett did an outstanding job of capturing my drum sound and really making this album a classic. New guys, new approach, same old Mark. Like the Warlord albums, this was pure magic and very exciting to do. Really gave me a reason to get up in the morning. Looking forward to Slavior II. "
